WASHBURN, Maine – Barbara O. Drost, 91, wife of the late Perley Drost, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 16, 2017 at Caribou. She was born in Mapleton August 11, 1926 the daughter of the late William and Martha (Conroy) Baker.
She attended the Wade and Washburn Schools and was employed as a Lab Technician for Potato Service as well as French’s Processing. Mrs. Drost was a longtime faithful member of the Dunntown Advent Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters; JoAnne Hewitt and husband Roger of Wade and Lois Pike of Washburn; a special nephew Dale Baker of Bakersfield, CA; three brothers; Neil Baker Sr. of Washburn, Raymond Baker of Woodland and Jack Baker of North Carolina; four sisters; Gloria Drost of Florenceville, NB, Canada, Nora Holmes of Nottingham, NH, Patricia Baker of Presque Isle and Linda Levasseur of Woodland; eight grandchildren; Billy, Bobbi, Roger Jr., Donnie, Jodale, Shelly, Adam, and Shalyn; twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Drost. Mrs. Drost was predeceased by her husband, Perley, a son Doug, a granddaughter Barbie and several brothers.
Friends may call at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church on Wednesday September 20, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services which will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. George McLaughlin, officiating. Interment will be in the Crouseville Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Caribou Rehab and Nursing for the fine care and compassion shown to Barbara and her family these past few months.
