It will be another busy Friday and Saturday for high school soccer, cross country, golf and football squads as the fall sports season rolls on.

On the gridiron, the Houlton football team is looking to get back on the winning track after suffering its first loss of the season last week. Houlton (2-1) travels to Ellsworth  (0-3) for a 7 p.m. contest. The Shires fell 40-20 to Mattanawcook Academy last week after shutting out Stearns/Schenck (30-0) and Orono (20-0) earlier in the season.

The Eagles are coming off a disappointing 41-0 shutout by Hermon last week and have also lost to Mt. View (43-35) and Dexter/Piscataquis (28-13).

Friday’s soccer action sees the Hodgdon boys and girls clubs travel to Danforth to take on East Grand (boys at 3 p.m./girls at 5 p.m.), while MSSM makes the trip to Van Buren (boys at 5 p.m./girls at 7 p.m.).

On the golf course, Hermon comes up north to square off against Carlisle at Caribou Country Club, with the match beginning at 3:30 p.m.
