CARIBOU, Maine — Halfway Home Pet Rescue needs new foster homes for rescued felines.
According to HHPR Director Norma Milton, some of the homes would be for temporary housing (two to four weeks at a time) for adult cats when the adoption center is full to capacity, while others would be on a more permanent basis.
She said permanent foster homes are needed for loving elderly cats who would like to live out the rest of their life with a family. HHPR will pay any future medical expenses for any permanent elderly foster cats, with the foster family providing the home and love.
These cats are 10 to 14 years old, vet checked and pronounced healthy. They need foster homes because most of the previous owners have either passed away or moved into a nursing home environment.
