HODGDON, Maine — The Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp will hold a Regional Weekend program Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Hodgdon Middle/High School for any student in the Houlton, Hodgdon, Southern Aroostook and Katahdin areas.
Much like the ATLC summer camp program, these gatherings of local teens and pre-teens incorporate drug prevention and teen leadership development and are sponsored by Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc.
The session will feature team-building activities and workshops on teen topics, presented by a team of Aroostook County teens who have attended an ATLC summer leadership camp. Pizza and drinks are provided for lunch, along with snacks during the day.
The event is free to attend. Pick up registration materials at a local school or contact Amber Stedt at astedt@ahmc.org. Registration deadline is Oct. 4. Students must currently be in grades 5-8 but do not have to attend a public school in order to participate.
ATLC plans two more weekend programs in the Caribou and Fort Fairfield areas at a later date.
