CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Middle School boys’ soccer team wrapped up its season Sept. 23 with a 2-1 home win over Fort Fairfield.
With the victory, coach Steve Perreault’s squad finished with an overall record of 6-3-4, including 3-0-3 in Aroostook League play.
Keegan Bell scored off a Cameron Belanger assist in the first half and Jude Shea notched the game-winning goal with 10 minutes left off a Devin Wright assist. Alex Belanger was a standout as the Vikes’ goalkeeper. Dylan Bouchard and Calvin Hersey had strong games for CMS.
On Sept. 22, Caribou blanked Presque Isle White, 1-0, behind Griffen McNeal’s goal that came with two minutes remaining in the first half. Michael Brigman was tremendous in goal and earned the shutout. Alden Wilcox, Ryan Austin, Eliott Sleeper and Alex Levesque spearheaded the defense and Cameron Belanger, Aryan Bawa and Bobby Caron all turned in strong outings.
Shea, with 11 goals and three assists, was the leading scorer, while Ari Plante was close behind with six goals and five assists. The Vikings scored 25 goals on the season, while surrendering 24.
