Mrs. Sharman (Drew) Ball, a former resident of Island Falls, has returned to her home in Aurora, Colorado after spending several weeks here with Mrs Marion Hoar. While here she visited with many relatives and friends in the area. She also enjoyed the nice weather and seeing some of the bright foliage starting to show up now that the weather is cooler.
Martin and Doris Pankratz have closed their cottage on Pleasant Pond and having sold their former home in Kansas, will now spend the winter months in their new home in Orono. This is close enough to visit with the friends that they have made over the 40 some years they have been coming here.
It’s been a long time since I have written about my feathered friends, deer and assorted wild little animals that I see around my home. I have had a small chipmunk living in my barn (I think) and sometimes perched on a limb of my cedar tree, apparently waiting for the cut-up bread and (or) the sunflower seeds.
I have had very few deer in my backyard, but did see three a couple of times back in August and the little one still had spots on it. No squirrels have been have been around, either, Hopefully, I will see none at all.
