EASTON NEWS

by Debbie Smith

The Boy Scouts in Easton are putting a “flock of flamingos” on lawns with one big flamingo in the middle that says “You have been flocked.” When these show up on your lawn, you have to call them and pay a fine to get them removed. Then you can have someone else’s lawn flocked. It will be your choice where they end up next. You will be giving to a good cause and the Scouts will appreciate the support.

YOU’VE BEEN FLOCKED — If you see these flamingos on your lawn in Easton, you will know you have been flocked by the Boy Scouts. They are doing this for a fundraiser. They put several flamingos on your lawn with the big one saying you have been flocked. The only way you can get rid of them is to call the Scouts and pay a fine and then they will relocate them for you. You have a choice of whose lawn they go to next. This is for a good cause. Have fun. These flamingos ended up on Jeff and Shelly Clark’s lawn.

Science center making wreaths

The Francis Malcolm Science Center once again invites you to attend our popular wreath-making workshop. We provide all the materials you need to create your own unique and personalized wreath ($10), centerpiece ($8 for one candle and $10 for three candles), swag ($5) or children’s dish ($3). New this year, you can create an arrangement on an old fashioned wooden snowshoe ($35) or in a basket (extra $2).
Reservations required and can be made by calling 488-5451, or e-mailing us at fmscicenter@ainop.com. The center staff will need to know how many will be attending and which items each person will be making. Public workshops are Friday, Dec. 3, 6-8 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 4, 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Hannaford helps schools

More information will be available soon about the Hannaford store program. Between now and Dec. 5th, we will be collecting Hannaford (Graves Shop ‘n’ Save) receipts from participating products. A coupon will print with your receipt. Feel free to drop your receipts in the box labeled ‘Easton” at Graves, or send them into school with your child. We can use the coupons from other Hannaford stores if you have family or friends that shop these stores as well.

Ink cartridges and cell phones

A box in the main office at the elementary school is available to drop off old ink cartridges and cell phones for recycling.

Christmas bazaar

Last year’s shopping event for the children to purchase inexpensive gifts for family members went over so well that we are holding it again this year. This year we are asking people to donate items that could be used for gifts — handmade or other re-gifted items are perfect. Items can be dropped at the elementary school or call 488-7701 to make arrangements for them to be picked up.

Birthdays and anniversaries

On Nov. 25th, Thanksgiving Day, Michael Belle-Isle, Jared Flewelling, Derek Carlow and Denise Clark all have a birthday. On Nov. 26th Blake Bradley, Brook Napoli and Amos Yoder will all turn another year older. If you see Barb Blackstone, Greg Jackson, Bruce Alexander, Ian McLean or Khary Hasley on Nov. 27th you can wish them a happy birthday. On Nov. 28th Roxanne Hafford, Sara Carter, Christy Darr, Earlene Lawrence and Savanna Clark all have a birthday to celebrate. Patience Clark, Caleb Bomar, Marjorie Corey, Tabitha Dudley and Jamie Haines will all be a year older on Nov. 29th. On Nov. 30th Jeremy Brock, Keith Kneeland, Mallard Ireland, Jennifer Morin and Dasha Haines all have a birthday.
Blessings to you all on your special day.
