Snowmobile Club Prepares for winter season

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, the Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club held its annual information meeting.

At the meeting, a schedule for club events was adopted and plans made for the annual Landowner Turkey Supper. Members are looking forward to a fun winter in the snow.

The next scheduled event is the directors’ November meeting, which will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse, 94 Town hall Road, Chapman.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the club will host its annual landowner turkey supper. Landowners are invited to this special appreciation dinner to thank them for allowing snowmobile trails to cross their property. The supper is free for invited landowners and all members with a paid 2017-18 membership.

Society cancels workshop

The Haystack Historical Society announced the cancellation of their Christmas workshop due to unforeseen circumstances.

With this cancellation, the society will close its 2017 museum season. The society looks forward to seeing everyone in 2018.

Senior meetings resume

The Mapleton-Chapman-Castle Hill Seniors Club will begin their 2017-18 twice-monthly meetings on Monday, Nov. 6, at 11:30 a.m. The first meeting will be a special pancake luncheon.

The regular potluck luncheons will begin with the Nov. 20 meeting at 11:30 a.m. at the Mapleton United Methodist Church.

All seniors in the tri-town area are invited to participate in the regular luncheons, scheduled for the first and third Mondays of each month through June 2018. For more information, contact Judy Kennard.

First Friday luncheon

The Mapleton United Methodist Church will hold its regular First Friday Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 3, at 11:30 a.m. This will be the Thanksgiving luncheon.

The public is invited to attend. If you have missed these luncheons, please plan to attend. These luncheons are excellent times to meet friends and neighbors you may not see too often. There is no charge for the lunch, but donations are accepted.
