FORT KENT, Maine — The University of Maine at Fort Kent men improved to 15-1 following Tuesday’s 8-0 victory against the visiting University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls.
Lewis Cockburn picked up a hat trick for the Bengals, who outshot UMPI 22-0.
Stefan Petricevic, Stuart Conway, Rodney Witter, Faizi Salim and Nicholas Bent each contributed a goal for UMFK.
The UMPI men fell to 4-12 following Tuesday’s loss.
The UMFK women improved to 12-1-3 following Tuesday’s 5-0 victory over UMPI.
Sherifatu Sumaila booted two goals in the game. Kendra Freund, Catherine Bruno and Mili Alvarez also scored for the Bengals.
UMFK had 37 shots, Tuesday, compared to two for UMPI, which dropped to 1-11 with the loss.
Prior to the start of each game, UMFK recognized its senior players, who were playing their final home games as Bengals.
