On Thursday, Nov. 2, the Hayden Family Holiday Annual Dinner will be held at the Odd Fellows Hall at 23 Station Road at 12 p.m. All Easton senior residents are invited to attend this free meal.
Junior Ex is Friday
Come watch eight amazing performances of self-selected monologues and support the class of 2019 on Friday, Nov. 3, when they present Junior Exhibition at 7 p.m. at Easton Junior/Senior High School.
Admission costs: $2 for senior citizens, $3 for students, $5 for adults and $12 for families of four or more. Kimberly Hall is the Junior Exhibition adviser and Summer Guess has been assisting her.
Judges for the event will be Wendi Malenfant, Michaela Tompkins and Gail Ruscetta. Lisa Flewelling-Haney will serve as auditor.
Local referenda
Easton residents will have the opportunity to vote on the following two referendum questions, along with a state referendum, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Easton Town Office, 3 Station Road, Easton.
The ballot will include the following local questions:
Shall the Town of Easton approve the enactment of an ordinance prohibiting retail marijuana establishments and retail marijuana social clubs?
Shall the Town of Easton approve the enactment of an ordinance establishing a School Budget Committee pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. Section 3001?
Copies of the ordinances are available at the Easton Town Office for review.
Veterans’ Day assembly
The annual Veterans’ Day assembly will be held at the Easton Elementary School on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Breakfast will be served for the veterans at 8:30 a.m., followed by a program for the general public at 9:15 a.m.

Author to visit
On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Roger L. Stevens Jr. will be at Easton Elementary School for a visit from 6 to 7 p.m.
Stevens is a Maine author and photographer, having published “Babes in the Woods and Waters,” “A Day at the Fair,” “June The Loon: The Story of a Maine Loon Chick,” “Maine Moose on the Loose,” “What Do Baby Foxes Do?” and “Barnyard Babies.”
Books will be available for sale.
PTO news
The Easton Parent-Teacher Organization plans to host a Christmas bazaar in December and is seeking donations of new and gently used items, as well as gift bags and tissue paper for any occasion.
Any donations can be given to a PTO member or left at the elementary school office during school hours.

Community library
The library will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 4., and will resume its regular schedule next week.
The next Community Library Saturday will be Nov. 11 at the Easton High School Library from 9:30 a.m. until noon and will feature a story time from 10 to 10:30 a.m. for toddlers/pre-K to grade 3; children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services; book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.
