Island Falls Seniors – week of November 1, 2017

The Island Falls Senior Citizens met on Oct. 19 for our bi-monthly meeting and potluck.  Our meal, as usual, was a delicious array of casseroles, filled finger rolls, salads and desserts.

After the lunch and clean up, our business meeting was opened in form by our president, Rich Camire.   We discussed and planned our annual harvest dinner for our next meeting on Nov. 2, when we will be treated to turkey and all the “fixin’s.”

Marcy announced that SACS will conduct a clothing drive for the Salvation Army and graciously offered to be a drop-off point. A birthday party for Iona Nadeau was to be held at Smoki-Haulers in Oakfield on Oct. 29 from 1-3 p.m.

After the meeting, we played Bingo with Dave Emery emerging as the big winner of the day.

Members present were, Jeanne Clements, Ellie Peck, Rich Camire, Louise Butcher, Keith and Esther Harvey, Dave and Sheila Emery, Barney and Marcy Coursey, Mary Pipes, Edith Dwyer, Gloria Noyes, Mary Lawler, Darlene Hartin, Deannie Smith, Dick Shean, Darrell Hartin and Terry Dwyer.

Our next meeting will fall on Nov. 2 and will be our harvest dinner.  All seniors are urged to attend. We will also play the bag game and have entertainment.
