MARS HILL, Maine – Frances A. Kilcollins, 96, passed away peacefully November 3, 2017, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born March 10, 1921, in Blaine, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Shields) Stickney.
She worked at Athill Energies in Connecticut; Fort Fairfield Potato Co. in Mars Hill; Winnie’s Restaurant, Mars Hill; Swamp Fox Motor Inn in Presque Isle; H. Smith Packing in Mars Hill; as well as for many of the local farmers.
She is survived by a son, Gilbert Kilcollins and his wife, Kathleen of Mars Hill; two daughters, Marie Williams of Mars Hill and Sharon Lagace and her husband, Rene of Quebec; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Cecil Kilcollins in 1979; her children, Cecil, Claudine, Lois, and Stanley; as well as siblings Lucy, Burt, Randolph, Ray, Alice, Merville, Charles, Ervin, Ellery, George, Gordon, Emery, Leon, and Katherine.
Frances was active in many organizations, including the Maine Rebekahs, Senior Citizens, as well as various church groups. She loved to sing and play her “juice harp” at family get-togethers. She was proud to be called a “mountain woman” and loved everything about living in the country.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 87 Fort Road, in Mars Hill, with Pastor Cameron Price officiating.
