More stormy weather will be making its way to Maine this Friday.

Winds of 35 mph are predicted for across the state, with some gusts reaching up to 45 along the coastline and 50 mph in northern and mountainous regions, according to the National Weather Service stations in Gray and Caribou. About 2 inches of snow is slated for northern parts of the state, ushered by falling temperatures that will plummet into the low teens by Friday night.

Emera Maine, the state’s second-largest power company, warned in a statement Wednesday that winds could topple vulnerable trees already weakened by last week’s brutal storm, which could damage power lines and cause outages.

In the 10 days since the Oct. 30 storm, which battered the state with high winds and rain, crews have worked around the clock to restore power to nearly half a million Mainers who lost power.
