PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Athletes from Presque Isle High School were honored Nov. 7 during the school’s fall sports awards night, with soccer players, cheerleaders, cross country runners and golfers all recognized for their participation.
The following is a recap of the awards presented.
Junior varsity girls’ soccer — Coach Krystal Kingsbury presented certificates to: freshmen Macie Bartley, Meg Casavant, Riley Davis, Janelle Doak, Juliana Hundley-Mondello, Jenna Sargent and Portia Shaw; sophomores Katelyn Amero, Hana Boucher, Laura Garrison, Alexis Moro, Rebecca Rider, Anna Trombley and Liliana Wardell; and junior Kamryn Gilmour.
Junior varsity boys’ soccer — Coach Brian Cronin presented certificates to: freshmen Chance Bragan, Ben Graham, Conner Michaud, Jude Mosher, Noah Roy, Ben Ryan and manager LeRoy Gardiner; sophomores Connor Albertson, Sam Beaulieu, Gavin Akeley, Jacob Bonville, Brian Ellis, Gabe Herweh, Connor Junkins, Jaden MacDonald, Austin Pictou, Damon Underwood and Caleb Wheaton; and juniors Mark Graves, Garrett Morneault and Chase Quirion.
Fall cheering — Coach Kelsie Spooner presented first-year letters to: freshmen Delany Alward, Bella Harvath, Delaini Huston, Jeanna Knight, Sydney Robichaud and Kylie Scott; and seniors Jessica Boucher and Kiara Lyford.
Varsity golf — Coach Marc Weeks presented a certificate to freshman Ian MacKinnon, second-year letters to junior Libby Boone and senior Isaac Madore; and a third-year letter to junior Seth Roy.
Varsity boys’ cross country — Coach Evan Graves presented a certificate to sophomore Andrew McArthur; first-year letters to sophomore Michael Perkins and senior Alec Smith; second-year letters to sophomore Carter Jackson, junior Owen McQuarrie and seniors Jonah Clark and Ian Hoyt-Franz; a third-year letter to junior Trace Cyr and and a fourth-year letter to senior Max Bartley.
Varsity girls’ cross country — Coach Carson Dobrin presented certificates to freshman Jasmine LeClair, sophomore Stephanie Donovan and junior Alexandra Walsh; first-year letters to freshmen Ellie Smith and Amanda Winslow and junior Taylor Ellis; a second-year letter to senior Maddie Wing; a third-year letter to junior Madison Jandreau; and fourth-year letters to seniors Ellie Goheen, Isabelle Jackson and Olivia Mosher.
Varsity girls’ soccer — Coach Ralph Michaud and assistant coach Dillon Kingsbury presented certificates to freshmen Jenna Sargent, Portia Shaw and manager Hattie Bubar; and sophomore Rebecca Rider; first-year letters to freshman Rhylee Kinney, sophomore Allison Himes and junior Emma Kohlbacher; second-year letters to sophomores Charlotte Carrier, Clara Kohlbacher, Alana Legassie, Paige McHatten and Libby Moreau; juniors Grace Bemis, Lydia Miller and Savannah Rodriguez; and seniors Natalie Bates and manager Taylor Billings; third-year letters to juniors Elizabeth Collins, Molly Kingsbury, Madison Michaud and Eleanor St. Peter; and seniors Chrissy Skidgel and Mackenzie Turner; and a fourth-year letter to senior Emily Wheaton.
Varsity boys’ soccer — Coach Joe Greaves and assistant coach Tim McCue presented certificates to sophomores Sam Beaulieu, Caleb Wheaton and managers Colby Buckley and Taylor Hedrich and juniors Will Bridges and Mason Young; first-year letters to freshmen Colby Carlisle and Gage LeTourneau; sophomores Ethan Cassidy and Connor DeMerchant; juniors Drew Cameron, Torey Levesque and Jacob Sjoberg; and seniors Jack Beaulieu, Jack Bonville, RJ Gross and Cameron Lahey; a second-year letter to junior Zechariah Morse; third-year letters to juniors Kyler Caron, Jason Dumais and Jonah Hudson; and senior Adam Paterson; and fourth-year letters to seniors Griffin Guerrette, Randon Mortland and Ryle Mortland.
Special awards also were presented during the evening. Sweatshirts were given to those accumulating a combination of six varsity letters during a career — Jessica Boucher (fall cheering and winter cheering), Ellie Goheen (cross country and tennis), Savannah Rodriguez (soccer, basketball and softball), Jason Dumais (soccer, basketball and track and field), Isaac Madore (golf, hockey and tennis) and Randon Mortland (soccer and basketball).
Jackets are awarded to those lettering in a sport all four years. Recipients were Jessica Boucher (fall cheering), Ellie Goheen (cross country), Isabelle Jackson (cross country), Kiara Lyford (fall cheering), Olivia Mosher (cross country), Emily Wheaton (soccer), Max Bartley (cross country), Griffin Guerrette (soccer), Randon Mortland (soccer) and Ryle Mortland (soccer).
