The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum held its annual Fall Raffle with prizes consisting of first place of $500 or a hunting rifle from Mac’s Trading Post; $100 for second prize and a $50 gift certificate from Mac’s Trading Post for third place. Presenting the winners were from left, in back, Michelle Crane, owner of Mac’s Trading Post; Jamey Watson, president of the museum and Pat Cunningham, second place winner of $100. Carol Blood, front, chose the cash prize of $500 for first place.
Not pictured is Brad Lambert, who received the $50 gift certificate. Proceeds from the raffle support many projects at the museum. Some of the projects assisted by both the spring and fall raffles have been: purchasing a lawnmower, replacing outside doors, assisting with the building of the general store, service station, barn and a cataloging program. The museum was organized in 2001, it is a 501(c)3 non-profit and operates solely with volunteer help. There are a variety of membership levels available and the museum will be hosting its annual Membership Event on Jan. 20. Anyone joining the museum will enjoy a free meal that evening and there will be a special program featuring Richard Silliboy, who just completed the largest authentic Native American potato basket in Maine and possibly beyond. It is on display on the gymnasium stage.
