GETTYSBURG, PA – Dennis J. Hebert, 82, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg.
Dennis was born on May 4, 1935, in Caribou, Maine, the youngest of seventeen children of the late Edward and Margaret (LaBelle) Hebert.
Dennis was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he attended Aroostook State Teachers College in Presque Isle, Maine, before moving to Gettysburg to live and work at Brown’s Ranch Inc. In over fifty years of being at the farm, Dennis always had a smile on his face and was never afraid to tackle any job. There was no such thing as “it couldn’t be done” according to Dennis.
He is survived by a brother, Oscar Hebert of Dixfield, ME; three sisters, Margaret Baker of Pittsfield, ME, Louise Pike of Wayne, ME, and Phyllis Brown of Woodland, ME, and many friends and family of Brown’s Ranch in Gettysburg. Dennis is also survived by thirty-five nieces and nephews and over a hundred great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg following the service.
