DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine – Edna Marie Thompson, 95, passed away November 6, 2017, at Pleasant Meadow Estates, Dover-Foxcroft.
She was born August 30, 1922, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Elmer and Etta (Hagerman) Coffin. Marie was devoted to her family and her Lord. She enjoyed singing in church, for it allowed her to celebrate her faith with music. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always actively involved in their lives.
Marie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Keith K. Thompson, in 1996, and a brother, Clayton Coffin. She is survived by a son, Gregory Thompson and his wife, Lorraine, of New Windsor, MD, and a daughter, Betty Beless and her husband, Ray, of Dover-Foxcroft. She was a beloved “Nana” to five grandchildren and “Gigi” to twelve great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother-in-law, William Roope of Winterport, and two sisters-in-law, Lynette Coffin of South Portland, and Regina Roope of Presque Isle.
