The Houlton chapter of TOPS met Nov. 17 at the Aldergate Building on Kelleran Street. There were nine TOPS and two KOPS members present.
The loser of the week was Brenda Lacostic and the runner-up was Opal Adams. Good job, ladies.
The 50/50 and Skinny dish were both won by Brenda Lacostic.
Winter weather has begun with the meeting cancelled last Friday because of icy road conditions. Life in Maine — how grand. But we love it.
Jean Merritt presented the program, Taking the “Fall” out of the Scales. Being disappointed by what the scales read, does not mean you’re stuck there. Find something that makes you feel better about yourself. Try on a pair of jeans, are they a little looser? Hoorah for you. Are you sometimes driving by the fast food restaurants? Hoorah for you. Are you eating more fruits and vegetables? Hoorah for you. Always look for the positive that will build you up. Some of us don’t get the praise for things we are doing.
So if a family is reading this, your loved ones need encouragement too. Just take a few minutes to build her/his self esteem up.
We have a great group of TOPS/KOPS that will make you feel better about yourself and we will take time to tell you how well you’re doing.
Come join us. You will be as welcome as I was when I joined. For more information or directions to our meeting call Pam Richardson at 538-8760.
