MAUDE ‘MOLLY’ (ELLIOT) MOOERS, HOULTON – Maude “Molly” Mooers, 95, wife of the late Frederick B. Mooers, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at her residence. She was born July 8, 1922, in Glassville, N.B., Canada, the daughter of the late Frederick Elliot and Aurilla (Doherty) Elliot.
Molly was educated in Canada and then moved to the United States in 1954. She loved gardening and growing flowers, which were enjoyed by many. Molly also enjoyed quilting, and her friend, Della Taylor, spent many winters hand stitching beautiful quilts.
Molly was predeceased by five sisters, Jessie Welch, Mary Marshall, Emily Boles, Margaret Boles and Gladys Forbes; a brother, Bud Elliot; and a niece, Linda Forbes Blizzard. She is survived by a son, Perry and his wife, Terri; and a granddaughter, Samantha Wotton and her husband, Cody. She also leaves behind fifteen loving nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many dear cousins and friends. She will be dearly missed by her niece, Deborah Boles Hardie.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Ginny Urbanek officiating. A time of reception will be held at Watson Hall immediately following the service.
