Border Patrol apprehends individual illegally entering the country

HODGDON, Maine — U.S. Border Patrol agents picked up an individual Tuesday morning who they say entered the country illegally.

According to Jonathan Maynard, public affairs liaison for the United States Border Patrol Houlton Sector, an individual, confirmed to have entered the country illegally, was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

A Border Patrol helicopter was spotted in Hodgdon Tuesday morning, but Maynard would not confirm that it was involved in the capture.

“We are able to confirm that this apprehension took place in Hodgdon,” Maynard said. “Further information will be made available upon completion of the investigation.”

The name of the individual was not released and attempts to obtain additional information, such as how or where, the person entered the country, were not successful.
