WASHBURN, Maine — All-tournament choices have been announced for the Washburn Boys’ Preseason Basketball Tournament, held Friday and Saturday.
Dylan Haley of Ashland was named MVP. He was joined on the all-tourney team by teammate Steven Bellanceau; Lance Lavoie and Max Gendreau, both of Madawaska; Collin Sotomayor of Easton; and Noah White of Washburn.
On Friday, Madawaska defeated Ashland, 53-39, and Easton notched a 50-27 victory over Washburn. Saturday’s results saw Madawaska hold off Easton, 49-44, before Ashland downed Washburn, 51-28.
The Washburn Girls’ Preseason Tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday. The same four schools are involved. The matchups on the first night have Madawaska against Easton at 5:30 p.m. and Ashland squaring off with Washburn at 7 p.m. On Tuesday, Madawaska meets Ashland at 5:30 p.m. and Easton takes on Washburn at 7 p.m.
An all-tournament team will be named at halftime of Tuesday’s 7 p.m. contest.
