EASTON, Maine – The family would like to announce the passing of Gerald ‘Gerry’ Hayes Shaw, 87, who passed away on November 29, 2017, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill.
Gerald was born on October 26, 1930, in Easton and spent his life there, retiring in 1992 at age 62 after many years with Vahlsing and McCain Foods in Easton.
After their retirement, Gerry and Vera spent many years enjoying camping, skidooing, and going to dances and spending time with family and friends.
Gerald leaves to mourn his wife of sixty-three years, Vera M. Shaw (Ritchie); daughters, Marjorie Simonds and her husband, Carmen, of Royalton, New Brunswick, Canada, Judy Crawford and her husband, Allen, of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada; grandchildren, Ryan Simonds and his wife, Cathleen, Shawna Ricketts and her husband, Allan, Angela White and her husband, Jeff, Michelle Aldana and her husband, Thomas, Christopher Crawford and his wife, Christine, Ashley Maksymic and her husband, Jordan; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Boulier and her husband, Bob, of Florida, and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rena Shaw, and brothers, Reggie and Myles.
Friends and family called noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main Street, Mars Hill where a funeral service was held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Haminga, officiating.
