PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Jacqueline “Jackie” Charlotte Chandler, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning November 29, 2017 at The Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born April 23, 1938 in Easton, the daughter of F. Lauren and Lillian (Campbell) Johnston.
She graduated Presque Isle High School, class of 1957. She worked as a secretary at Bishop Law Office, Casco Northern Bank, and retired from Dunleavy Law office. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always a great hostess. She was a lifelong member of the State Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David K. Chandler, three children; Deborah L. Rooney, Steven D. Chandler and wife Susan Chandler, all of Presque Isle, Joanne K. Palmer and husband Timothy Palmer, Sr. of Grimsby, England, a sister, Karlene Fox of Niagara Falls, N.Y., twin brothers James Johnston and wife Anita Johnston of Presque Isle and John Johnston and wife Debra Johnston of Presque Isle, seven Grandchildren; Seth Rooney and wife Destin Rooney of Easton, Daniel Rooney of Mapleton, Emily Chandler of Presque Isle, Adam Chandler of Norfolk, VA. Timothy Palmer, Jr., William Palmer and Julia Palmer of Grimsby England, two great grandchildren; Audrey and Elizabeth Rooney of Easton, five nieces; Brenda Degregorio, Nadine Neal, Heidi Johnston, Hillary Lundgren and husband Eric Lundgren and Haley Johnston, a nephew; Loren Johnston and wife Amanda Johnston, two grand-nephews; Michael Neal and Vincent Neal, a grand-niece; Lillian Johnston.
Her family thanks the many healthcare providers, relatives and friends who extended kindness to Jackie during her illness.
A celebration of life will be held at the Duncan Graves Funeral Home 30 Church Street Presque Isle 12 Noon Monday December 4, 2017 with Pastor David Goupille officiating. Calling hours will be held 11-12 noon Monday at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton.
