HOWLAND, Maine — The Caribou wrestling team made the trip to Penobscot Valley High School Saturday for a multi-team meet and many Vikings picked up medals.
Kirtas Jandreau came in first in the 195-pound weight division, while seniors Evan Michaud (138) and Cory Jandreau (145) were both runners-up. Rylee Saucier, competing in the 106 division, came in third place with three victories on the day.
Freshman Kaden DeMerchant garnered his first Maine Principals’ Association wins and finished with a 3-2 record in the 152-pound class, also good for third place. Chloe Kirschmann, in 220, registered a fourth-place finish.
Angel Riopelle defeated his Monmouth opponent in 138 and Jarred Jordan scored a victory over a Washington Academy competitor in 285.
Caribou next competes in a dual meet at Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln Wednesday. Dexter, Bucksport and Calais are other schools expected to participate.
