Game postponements last night add to what already is a busy Wednesday sports calendar.

Due to Tuesday’s snowstorm, a pair of basketball games have been added to the current slate. The Fort Kent vs. Caribou girls game will now lead off a doubleheader at Caribou High School. That contest is set for 6 p.m. and will be followed by the originally-scheduled boys’ game between the Warriors and Vikings, which will now be played at 7:30 p.m.

The Fort Fairfield girls travel to Easton to take on the Bears in another game that was supposed to take place Tuesday. The new tip-off time will be 5:30 p.m.

Previously scheduled matchups include Woodland at Hodgdon girls at 6 p.m. and Houlton at Central Aroostook girls, Central Aroostook at Southern Aroostook boys and Katahdin at Fort Fairfield boys, all at 7 p.m.

A doubleheader also is planned as Ashland travels to Madawaska for boys’ and girls’ games beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Washburn was supposed to make the trip to Danforth for girls and boys games, but they have been postponed, according to Washburn Athletic Director Ron Ericson. He said the new date is Saturday, Dec. 16. The girls’ game is at 11:30 a.m. and the boys play afterward at 1 p.m.

The Presque Isle hockey team skates against the only other team in Aroostook County, the four-school co-op team Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Millar Arena in Houlton. Both teams enter with 0-1 records after falling to Camden Hills over the weekend.

In wrestling, Caribou travels to Lincoln for a 6 p.m. meet also including Calais, Dexter, Bucksport and host Mattanawcook Academy.
