LIMESTONE — Milo and John Haney, co-owners of C&J Service Center of Caribou have received the American Towman ACE Award for achievement in service performance. This is the third time the brothers have received the ACE Award since becoming owners of the approximately 30-year-old family business in 2010; previous ACE Awards were received in 2004 and 2005.

AWARD-WINNING BUSINESS — Milo, left, and John Haney, right, co-owners of C&J Service Center of Caribou were notified in late fall of 2010 that they were the recipients of the ACE Award, presented by American Towman Magazine, for their outstanding performance and customer service.
The nomination guidelines for the ACE Award include; the highest percentage of calls when the estimated time of arrival is achieved, consistency in response time, written appreciation from customers and percentage of calls serviced (instead of turning them away) thereby reflecting reliability and overall professionalism.
While C&J Service Center excelled in all these categories to win the ACE Award, Milo feels that the business received recognition based on the timeliness of service.
“When someone calls, we get right out the door,” he said. “The winters are cold, so you have to respond quickly when someone is broken down on the side of the road.”
C&J Service Center offers 24/7 towing 365 days a year — it doesn’t matter if John and Milo are sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner with their families or opening presents on Christmas morning, they’re always available to respond to a disabled vehicle call, even if that vehicle is all the way up in Fort Kent.
Just last month, in fact, John towed a vehicle down to Peabody, Mass. to be serviced and the brothers can remember their father driving all the way to Vermont with a tow: the side of their tow-truck says “local and long distance towing” and clearly, that’s no exaggeration.
C&J Service Center is located on the corner of Access Highway and the West Gate Road on the Limestone/Caribou border and can be reached by calling 328-7645.
ACE recipients rank in the top 1 percent of the towing industry’s service providers. The ACE Award is presented by American Towman Magazine and recipients who earned recognition were nominated by the nation’s major motor clubs and dispatch centers, including Asurion, Coach-Net, GEICO, National Automobile Club and Nation Safe Drivers.
The ACE Award was commemorated by an original design belt buckle; the buckles were presented to the towing professionals during the ACE Award Ceremony at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md. on Nov. 21 in 2010 at the American Towman Exposition, the world’s largest trade show and convention for emergency road service providers.
