ALLY PELLETIER created the winning design for MPG’s Christmas card during a contest earlier this winter at Wintergreen Arts Center in Presque Isle. Here, Pelletier displays her work of art.

“Last fall we did some re-merchandising at the MPG store in Presque Isle and had a paint samples display that was replaced. The display contained over 500 pods of paint,” said Sharon Daigle-Gerrish, marketing manager for Maine Potato Growers, Inc.

DONATED PAINT SAMPLES were used by students at the Wintergreen Arts Center in December to create greeting cards for the donor, Maine Potato Growers, Inc. Pictured are some of the students with their artwork, pictured from left: Kayla Symonds, Abigail Cloney, Aidan Johnson, Alinah Daudi, Wilson Saucier, Aaron Tucci and David Abernathy.

Rather than throwing away the samples, store officials opted to share them with budding local artists.

“Rather than discard the samples, we decided to donate them to the Wintergreen Arts Center. When I made the delivery, Lara Cannon offered to have students design our Christmas card as a thank-you,” she said.

Over a dozen children enjoyed designing cards, using the paints provided by MPG.

“The students had a contest and employees at MPG picked a winning design,” said Daigle-Gerrish.
