TOPS (week of December 20, 2017)

Our last two weekly meeting for TOPS were Dec. 8 and 15 at Kelleran Street, Houlton.

On Dec 8, The loser of the week was Marsha Reed and the runner-up was Mildred Gagnon. We had a shortened meeting with a get-together at Janette Nelson’s house afterwards.

On Dec. 15, there were 11 TOPS and three KOPS members present. The loser of the week was Pam Richardson and the runners-up were Mystery Lady and Denise Clark.

Betty Wyman won the 50/50 and the Skinny Dish was held over to next week.

Charms for weight loss were given out to Diana Folsom, Janette Nelson, Marsha Reed, Barbara Troy and Pam Richardson.

The program was presented by Marsha Reed with Janette Nelson helping on the topic: “Can we eat less candy?” 3,500 calories equals 1 pound added to our body. A person eating 2000 calories per day and burning off less than that amount will store those extra calories. 100 or more calories doesn’t sound like much but will add up over the year. A study done said that from Halloween through the rest of the year, a person can gain 5 pounds or more. Can you believe that? And it takes walking a mile to burn off 100 calories.

Thanks so much, Marsha, for the great program.

We welcome all to come join our group for support and ways to become losers.
