Mapleton group to go caroling

At 5:30 p.m. tonight, Dec. 13, Mapleton Baptist Church members and friends will meet to go caroling around Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill.  They will continue caroling into Presque Isle, ending at a home of one of the church’s members for refreshments.

Christmas Eve service

The Mapleton Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church will have a combined Christmas Eve service this year.  

Their Candlelight Service will be held at 6 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church on Second Street, across from the Presque Isle Post Office.  Everyone is invited to attend this special worship service.

Holiday worship

The West Chapman Advent Church invites families, friends and neighbors to a special Christmas season worship service.

On Christmas Eve, a heartwarming candlelight service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. at the West Chapman Advent Christian Church.  The service will renew the memories of all who attend about the importance of baby Jesus’ birth.  All are welcome to attend.

Candlelight service

The Mapleton United Methodist Church will hold their candlelight service at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24, at the church on Main Street in Mapleton.  Everyone is invited to attend.

New Year’s Eve bash

This year there will be a New Year’s Eve Bash at the Mapleton Lions Hall.  The featured dance band will be one Aroostook County’s favorite bands, “Common Crossing.”  Get your tickets for this event by contacting Jacob Timothy Graham through Facebook or pick them up at the Mapleton Diner.  There are a limited number of tickets available.  The cost is $20 each or $30 per couple.  

This is a BYOB event.  The event is sponsored by the Mapleton Lions Club.

Property Taxes Due

Residents of Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill are reminded that property taxes need to be paid by office close on Dec. 29, 2017, to avoid penalties.

Renew Dog Tags

2018 dog tags are now available at the town office.  Remember dogs need to be registered by January 31, 2018.  Owners of all dogs registered after Jan. 31, 2018, will be assessed a $25 late fee.
