The Caribou girls travel south to take on undefeated Houlton Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Caribou is 1-2 on the season under the guidance of first-year coach Kayla Richards, while the Shires are just 1-0 with coach Shawn Graham.
In other Tuesday night games, East Grand (0-4) will try to secure its first win of the year with coach Mike Carlos as the Vikings travel to Hodgdon for a 7 p.m. game. Wendell Harvey’s Hawks are 2-1 on the year.
Coach Cliff Urquhart and his Southern Aroostook squad will look to continue the red-hot start to the season as the Warriors (3-0) head to Stacyville to take on Katahdin. The Cougars are 1-2 on the year for coach Jona Fitzpatrick.

Girls basketball
Central Aroostook 44, Fort Fairfield 37 — The Panthers shook off a slow start, outscoring the host Tigers 39-25 over the final three periods to win for the first time this season.
Three players reached double figures in scoring for Central Aroostook (1-2). Breann Bradbury led the way with 14, Kassie Levesque had 11 and Maci Beals 10.
Cammi King-Demerchant paced the Tigers (2-2) with 13 points and Riley Clough added 10, including six during the first quarter which saw her team jump out to a 12-5 advantage.
Ashland 52, Wisdom 20 — The Hornets won for the third time this season, handling Wisdom in St. Agatha. Ashland blanked the Pioneers in the first quarter and gave up just three points in the third in a strong defensive display.
Morgan Doughty scored 12 points and Jamie Poulin chipped in with nine for the Hornets, now 3-1. Wisdom’s Alyssa Banville led her team with nine points. The Pioneers fell to 0-3 with the loss.
Boys basketball
Easton 60, Washburn 22 — At Easton, the Bears jumped out to a 22-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and rolled to the victory.
Matt Pangburn and Camden Michaud each tallied nine points to lead Easton (3-2) and Collin Sotomayor added eight as 11 different players scored.
Washburn (0-4), which cut the lead to 12 midway through the third quarter, was led by Carvor Pendexter, who finished with eight points.
Wisdom 58, Ashland 48 — The Pioneers sent the visiting Hornets to their fourth consecutive loss to begin the season in the game played in St. Agatha. Wisdom improved to 2-1. Game details, including individual scoring, were not reported.
Houlton 77, Southern Aroostook 35 — At Houlton, Cam Cleary scored 15 points, hauled in 16 rebounds and had three blocks as the Shires (3-1) rolled past Southern Aroostook. Drew Foley chipped in with 13 points for Houlton and Nolan Porter netted 10.
Garrett Siltz scored 15 points to lead the Warriors (2-3) of Dyer Brook.
GHCA 66, Van Buren 41 — At Van Buren, Will Austin netted 20 points to lead Greater Houlton Christian Academy to victory. Parker Brewer chipped in with 16 points for the Eagles (2-3).
Luc Perreault tallied a game-high 22 points to pace Van Buren (1-3). Brandon Sytulek added nine points.
Van Buren led 13-12 in the first quarter and the two squads were tied 28-28 at the half. GHCA outscored Van Buren 23-8 in the third period to break open the game.
Woodland 72, Hodgdon 44 — At Woodland, Justin Worden scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to power the Dragons to victory. Chris Plissey scored 14 points, Sabre Phelps tallied 12 and Gavin Gardner added 10 for Woodland (3-0).
Josh Foster paced Hodgdon (3-2) with 10 points while Andrew Tuttle chipped in eight points.
Woodland led 26-10, 41-17 and 60-34.
