“I thought Evan wrestled his best [on Wednesday],” said James “Chico” Hernandez, Caribou’s seventh-year head coach. “He wrestled a very smart match against Emery.”

Cory Jandreau, in the 145-pound class, also had a perfect record at the meet and is now 9-2 overall.

Hernandez said freshmen Rylee Saucier in 106 (9-4 record) and Kaden DeMerchant in 152 (8-7) are coming along well and “are being tested day in and day out.”

“I sometimes think I expect too much from them, but I have to be patient as this growing process and development of these young wrestlers will take some time and much more experience,” Hernandez added.
