ORONO, Maine — The Carlisle girls’ swim team picked up a road victory Saturday against the Orono Red Riots at the University of Maine’s Wallace Pool.
Carlisle scored 53 points, compared to 36 by the hosts.
Carlisle senior Maddie Wing came in first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1 minute and 5.93 seconds. She also captured the top spot in the 500 freestyle in 5:49.07.
Abby Espling was fourth in the 200 free in 2:41.29 and fourth in the 100 free in 1:15.23, Emily Stillion fourth in the 200 individual medley, Abby Raymond fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:24.44 and Elizabeth Deschaines fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:38.19.
The best finish by a relay team came in the 400 freestyle. Taking second were Wing, Kyra Thibeault, Espling and Stillion.
The Carlisle boys fell to the Red Riots by a score of 41-20. Carlisle’s Martin Brozman placed second in the 200 IM in 3:13.81 and fourth in the 100 back in 1:38.67. Teammate Jay Philbrick was second in the 100 back in 1:26.52 and fourth in the 200 free in 2:44.55.
