PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Ryan and Nicole “Nikki” Guess recently joined the Wintergreen Arts Center Board of Directors. Nikki Guess is a native of Presque Isle and Ryan Guess is originally from Rolla, Missouri. The couple currently resides in Easton with their two teenage daughters.
Ryan and Nikki Guess met in Aroostook County while Ryan was stationed at the Loring Air Force Base, and were married shortly after. As a military family, they lived in Florida, Georgia, Texas, South Dakota, and spent seven years in Germany. Ryan retired from the Air Force in 2014, and the Guess family soon moved back to the area, settling in Easton.
Ryan works for DFAS in Limestone; Nikki works as a substitute teacher for the Easton School System; and, their two daughters attend Easton High School.
“During our seven years in Germany, we gained an appreciation for art which helped us recognize how valuable Wintergreen is to our local community,” said Ryan.
Nikki added, “From promoting local artists through the First Friday Art Walk, to our girls participating in the summer arts program and the CHAIR-ity auction, we are excited to be a part of this wonderful organization that encourages young and old alike to find their inner artist.”
“We are very excited to have Ryan and Nikki join the board,” said Kim Guerrette Michaud, board chairman. “They have been volunteering their time and supporting our programming for a few years now, and it feels like a natural move to make it official. We look forward to the new perspective they bring through their personal life experiences outside of Maine and while serving overseas.”
