David Russell Hotham

CASTLE HILL, Maine – David Russell Hotham, 57, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, January 23, 2018, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a very brief, but courageous fight with lung cancer. David was born in Presque Isle on June 8, 1960, the son of Richard and Maxine (Griffin) Hotham.

David was employed at McCain Foods in Easton for many years, where he traveled extensively for the company. He was most recently employed with Maine Potato Growers in Presque Isle. David loved many outdoor activities, especially kayaking with Julie and his children Melissa and Tyler.
David was a dedicated and loving husband and father. We have lost our best friend, our rock, and most of all, our dear sweet husband, father and brother.
He was very kind, loving and caring to everyone and most importantly he was so genuine. Dave touched the heart of everyone he came in contact with and has left a positive impression on all of them. David treated everyone with respect and love because that was what he truly was. He loved, adored and respected his children and stepchildren like no other. He cherished the times he was able to spend with his grandchildren. David was truly a gift from God for the short years he was here.
David is survived by his wife, Julie (Turner) Hotham of Castle Hill; his son, Tyler of Maryland. Unfortunately, his beautiful daughter, Melissa, predeceased him just a few short months before him. He is also survived by his step-children, Kyle Perkins and fiancé, Vanessa and their children, Parker and Calli, Kara Perkins and her daughter, Amelia and Kurtis Perkins and his wife, Kaitlin; his siblings, a brother, Gary Hotham and his wife, Karen of Maryland, a sister, Judy Hotham and her husband, Joseph Aliberti of North Carolina, a brother, Brian Hotham and his wife, Bonnie of Presque Isle; many wonderful and special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. David was predeceased by his parents.
David’s family will be eternally grateful to the amazing caretakers of the Maine Medical Center. Their compassionate and loving care will always be remembered.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the New Life Baptist Church, Caribou Road, Presque Isle. A celebration of David’s life was held after the funeral at the church.
