CARIBOU, Maine — The National Weather Service Office in Caribou has issued a winter storm watch for southeast Aroostook County, along with portions of Piscataquis, Penobscot, Somerset, Hancock and Washington counties, effective Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, through late Wednesday night.
Weather officials issued the report at 3:52 p.m. on Feb. 5, citing possible heavy snow with projected total snow accumulations of around 6 to 9 inches. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
The watch affects the communities of Baker Lake, Billy-Jack Depot, Baxter St Park, Chamberlain Lake, Churchill Dam, Mount Katahdin, Millinocket, East Millinocket, Patten, Medway, Houlton, Hodgdon, Sherman, Smyrna Mills, Greenville, Monson, Blanchard, Lincoln, Howland, Springfield, Bangor, Brewer, Orono, Old Town, Amherst, Aurora, Dedham, Eastbrook, Great Pond, Orland, Calais, Grand Lake Stream, Wesley, Perry, Princeton, Dover-Foxcroft, Milo, Guilford, Danforth, Vanceboro, and Topsfield.
