MESA, Arizona, and MARS HILL, Maine – Mary Ann Calkins, nee Chase, age 80, was a four-year resident of Woodridge, IL, formerly of Mesa, AZ, and Mars Hill, Maine. She passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Edward Hospital of Naperville. Mary was born on January 4, 1938 in Westfield, Maine, to her loving late parents, Cyrus and Margaret Chase.
She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin Brewer; cherished mother of Mark Brewer of Woodridge, IL, Colleen Ofiara, and Fred Calkins; dearest grandmother of Alexandra and Sean Ofiara and Kelly and Fredrick Calkins; and loving sister of Betsy Clements, Rachael Brewer, and the late Curtis Lunney.
Mary was a longtime caregiver and nurse. She loved gardening especially planting shrubs and trees, turning desert rocks into a beautiful garden.
