JOANNE L. GRANT, HOULTON – Joanne L. Grant, 85, passed away on February 8, 2018, in Houlton. She was born on September 21, 1932, in New Limerick, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (Cole) Lloyd.
Joanne was a 1951 graduate of Houlton High School and a 1985 graduate of Northern Maine Community College with a degree in Nursing. Joanne worked at Houlton Reginal Hospital for 20 years. She was an excellent seamstress and knitter and enjoyed crafting. In her later years she started quilting and was a member of Friends & Needles Quilting Guild which she thoroughly enjoyed. She made many beautiful items cherished by family members. She was a member of the Military Street Baptist Church, the Maine State LPN Association and the National Federation of LPN’s.
She is survived by her children, Debra Cone of Amity and David Grant of New Limerick; four grandchildren, Amanda L. Cone, Jennifer R. Grant, William Eric Grant, and Logan A. Grant; two great-grandchildren, Abby and Kayden Grant; two sisters, Joyce Craig of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Marlene Lloyd of Hancock; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and two children, infant, Michael A. and beloved son, William J. Grant.

Friends called from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton, where funeral services were held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating.
