BRIDGEWATER, Maine — A juvenile driver avoided major injuries in a single-vehicle crash on an icy road in Bridgewater early Wednesday morning, according to the Maine State Police.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, a teenage driver lost control of a 2006 Chevy pickup on Bootfoot Road and skidded into the parking lot of a business, where the vehicle crashed into a detached front-end loader bucket, according to police.
The driver, who was not identified because the individual is under the age of 18, “sustained a major blow to the head and likely lost consciousness for an unknown amount of time,” state police said in a press release.
Upon regaining consciousness, the driver walked to a nearby home to report the crash.
Crown Ambulance arrived and transported the driver to The Aroostook Medical Center, where the teen was medically cleared and later released, according to police.
The pickup truck sustained major damage in the incident, the press release indicated.
