The PurpleHat ladies met at the Elm Tree in Houlton for their first meeting of 2018. Wannetta Townsend asked the blessing on the food.
Several members were missing due to illness. Delores Locke recognized those with birthdays and led the singing of “Happy Birthday.” The budget for the year was discussed. Winners of the monthly drawing were Jackie Colella and Betty Wyman. Several cards were signed for missing members.
“Grandma’s Old Valentine” was read, telling how fancy the old, old cards used to be.
