HAMPDEN, Maine – Lucas St. Clair, who is seeking the Democratic nomination in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District, today joined a lawsuit seeking the implementation of ranked choice voting for the June primary election.
“Voters have demanded that we improve our elections. When the Maine Legislature ignored their demands and tried to repeal the law, supporters of ranked choice voting collected about 80,000 signatures to make sure that ranked choice voting is implemented this year. Voters are fed up with inaction, with delays and with being ignored,” St. Clair said. “Voters deserve to know that the law will be implemented, and all the campaigns need certainty about the type of election we will see in June.”
