ORONO, Maine — Madelyn Wing of the Carlisle swim team turned in two strong performances at Monday’s Class A state swimming and diving championships, which took place at the University of Maine’s Wallace Pool.
Wing, a senior at Presque Isle High School, placed fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.41 and also took seventh in the 200 freestyle in 2:04.28.
Carlisle placed 18th out of 27 teams by scoring 26 points in the meet.
At the Penobscot Valley Conference championships the previous week, Wing won the 100 fly and was the runner-up in the 200 free. That meet was also held at UM-Orono.
