Paula Shaw, pageant director, announced the Mapleton Pageant will add a new division to the 2018 pageant.
“We are responding to the expressed interest by parents and families for adding a Mini Miss Mapleton division to the pageant,” she said. “Thus, young girls who are in the Pre-K or Kindergarten age range are eligible to enter this new division of the pageant.”
Shaw said there are openings in all divisions, and the last date to enter is this Saturday March 3rd. The Mapleton Pageant will be held Saturday, April 7, and new contestants are welcome to enter the Pageant divisions appropriate for their age. Any girl who is a resident of Mapleton, Chapman or Castle Hill, in grades pre-K-12, is eligible.
The six divisions are Mini Miss Mapleton, Little Miss Mapleton, Pre-Teen Miss Mapleton, Junior Miss Mapleton, Teen Miss Mapleton and Miss Mapleton.
Shaw released the pageant practice schedule last week.
“We have practices on Monday nights from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Opportunity Training Center on Lombard Street in Presque Isle,” she explained. “There are two exceptions, when we will have practice on Sundays, March 11 and 18 at 2 p.m., instead of the Mondays of those two weeks.”
Practices are getting underway and Shaw emphasized March 3 is the last day to contact her for entry.
