Johnson, Elsie C., 92, died January 10, 2007 at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.    
PRESQUE ISLE – Elsie C. Johnson, 92, died on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at a Mars Hill health care facility. She was born in Hall Quarry, St. George, Maine on August 8, 1914, the daughter of Charles T. and Mary (Hillgrove) Johnson.
    She lived a good part of her life in Presque Isle and was a member of State Street Baptist Church. Elsie graduated from St. George High School in 1933. She graduated from Providence Bible Institute in Barrington, Rhode Island in 1939. She then attended Evangeline Booth Hospital in Massachusetts and graduated in 1941, where she worked as a nurse from 1941-1944. She also worked as a nurse in Allentown, MA in 1944. From 1944-1979, Elsie was employed by American Missionary Fellowship as a missionary in Aroostook County. She retired from the Mission on December 31, 1979.
    She is survived by two brothers, Edsel L. Johnson of Fitchburg, MA and Vincent T. Johnson of Worcester, MA; a sister Marianna J. Tusia of  Fitchburg, MA; several nieces and nephews.
    Relatives and friends called from 7-9 PM Friday, January 12, 2007 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. Funeral services were held 1:00PM Saturday at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Michel Shaw of State Street Baptist Church. A reception followed the service in the gathering room of the funeral home. Spring interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
