CARIBOU, Maine – Vernal Mitchell Greenier, 88, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018, after a brief illness. He was born on October 5, 1929, the son of the late Edward and Annabell (Martin) Greenier.
Vernal married the love of his life, Barbara Bourgoine, on November 21, 1950, and they had 60 years of wedded bliss before she passed away in 2011. Vernal spent many years as a dairy farmer where he delivered milk from house to house, as well as a potato farmer. In the later years he was a mechanic for Potato Service in Presque Isle. On sunny days you would find him tending his garden or in his garage listening to his extensive collection of country music. Vernal was a family man and enjoyed his seven children.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Cathy Preston of Newark Valley, NY, Sheila Belanger and husband, Greg, of Caribou, Judy Berube and husband, Scott, of Norfolk, CT, Danny Greenier, Scott Greenier and Tim Greenier and Peter Greenier and wife, Diane, all of Caribou; his grandchildren, Garrett and wife, Heidi, Christopher and wife, Wendy, Keith and wife, Leanda, Jessica and husband, James, Dylan, Danielle, Sarae, Halle Greenier and Jakeb and Linsey Pelletier; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Taylor, Brandon, Skylar, Peighton, Devin, Noah, Isla, Dean, and Mason, and one great-great-grandchild, Morgan; four sisters, Donna Barden of Lumberton, NC, Diane Normandin of Enfield, CT, Phyllis Tatham of Hilton, NH, and Loretta Mattoon of Fairpoint, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews.
