Graham’s Bowdoin squad bound for Final Four

BRUNSWICK, Maine — Hannah Graham and her Bowdoin Polar Bears are heading to the Final Four after winning their first four games in the NCAA Div. III National Basketball Tournament.

Graham, a 2015 graduate of Presque Isle High School and standout player for the Wildcats under coach Jeff Hudson, averages 6.3 points per game for Bowdoin.

The junior, who has played in all 30 of her team’s games, shoots 52.3 percent from 3-point land and 93.3 percent from the foul line.

Bowdoin owns a record of 28-2. The team beat Husson College in the first round, 94-32, before downing FDU-Florham of Madison, New Jersey, 79-57. Both of those games were played in Brunswick.

In Scranton, Pennsylvania, this past weekend in the Sweet 16, Bowdoin topped the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, 66-54, before besting Tufts in the Elite 8, 66-48.

They take on Wartburg College of Waverly, Iowa, Friday at 8:30 p.m. in Rochester, Minnesota, site of the Final Four. The winner plays either Amherst College of Massachusetts or Thomas More College of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in the title game.

Bowdoin’s last trip to the Final Four was in 2004, when the team ended up as national runner-up.
