FARMINGTON, Maine — The Janet Mills for Governor campaign today filed 3,000 signatures with the Secretary of State, the legal maximum, to qualify for the June ballot.

The Mills campaign announced Monday that it had collected more than 4,000 signatures from more than 140 municipalities, including signatures from all sixteen counties in Maine.

“We’re profoundly grateful to the more than two hundred volunteers who came out to collect signatures to get Janet on the ballot,” said Michael Ambler, Mills’ campaign manager. The Mills campaign’s entire signature operation was volunteer-driven, and employed no paid canvassers or signature collection firms.

“From day one, we’ve said we want to run a grassroots campaign powered by everyday people,” said Ambler. “These results are just the latest expression of the enthusiasm we’re seeing across Maine.”
