PRESQUE ISLE — Police are investigating several motor vehicle burglaries that occurred between June 22 and 23.

According to the Presque Isle Police Department’s log for those dates, a total of 11 complaints were made by owners who discovered their vehicles had been gone through and, in some cases, items were taken. The streets and roads the burglaries were reported on include: Braden, Park, Dyer, Wilson, Delmont, Dobson and Northern.

In each case, police indicate the vehicles were not locked. Owners reported vehicles were gone through and, in some cases, items were taken, including loose change, a wallet, camera, an I-Pad and other personal possessions.

During the same period, police received four calls reporting property found at various locations in the city, including several items located on Conley Street — located in the same neighborhood as several of the burglaries.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the person(s) responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the PIPD at 764-4476. Police also remind car owners to lock vehicles and, whenever possible, remove valuables or place items out of view to discourage criminal activity.
