DEAN R. FOLSOM, MONTICELLO – Dean R. Folsom, 90, passed away on March 13, 2018, in Houlton. He was born on September 24, 1927, in Houlton, the son of McDonald and Ivy (Wright) Folsom.
Dean was a member of Monument Lodge #96 of Houlton, Kiwanis Club, and the Lake Road Freewill Baptist Church. After a brief tour of duty in the Army, he returned to Monticello where he farmed until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Melva (Day); son, Meredith and Phyllis Folsom, and their children, Jennifer and Eric Nelson and Vanessa and Billy McCausland; daughter, Becky Day and her daughters, Jessica Fitzpatrick and Adam White and Kristin and Matthew Hogan; daughter, Melva Jo and Kevin Kramer, and their children, Ben and Alisha; daughter, Sarah and Ben Caron; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Lyndzi and Brock Nelson, Zander and Duska McCausland, Danika, Keegan and Connor Fitzpatrick, Brayden and Kasen Kramer; a sister, Patricia and Roger Quint, Catherine Janice; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Weldon.
