Kenzie Worcester, a junior on the Husson University women’s basketball team, was recently named to the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association first team and the New England Women’s Basketball Association third team.
Worcester, a 2015 graduate of Washburn District High School, is the third player in program history to earn a spot on one of the NEWBA All-Region teams.
Worcester led the Eagles’ in every category accept for rebounds and blocks. She has surpassed the 1,000-career point mark and currently sits at 1,355 points. She is the fastest player in the women’s program history to score 400 points in a single season, while surpassing the 500-point mark.
She is one of only three players in the nation to make 20 free throws in a single game this season, most in program history. She led the North Atlantic Conference in field goals and free throws made.
Worcester averaged 18.6 points per game, which ranked 40th in the nation. As a point guard, her field goal percentage is 47.9 percent. She shot 39.7 percent from 3-point range. In January, she was selected as NAC, State of Maine, and New England player of the week.
She is the daughter of Larry and Kim Worcester of Washburn.
