Rose is an approximately 1-1/2-year- old Maine Coon mix living at a Halfway Home Pet Rescue foster home. She came from a feral colony which HHPR is currently trapping on Railroad Street in Caribou, but is showing slight signs of wishing to be domesticated. This could mean that she still has a faint memory of being owned by a family, and perhaps was abandoned before she could be spayed. With low-cost spay/neuter programs available, HHPR volunteers find these situations sad and frustrating; however, they will give Rose all the time necessary to become domesticated. She has reached the point of allowing herself to cautiously smell a human’s finger for just a few seconds. All of her medical, including spaying, is complete. She will need a quiet home, as sudden noises and movement still make her nervous. Call 999-1075 for more information. (Courtesy of HHPR)
